Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Limited has published its unaudited financial report for the second quarter (up to mid-January) of the current fiscal year 2025/26.

According to the disclosed details, the company earned a net profit of NPR 996.539 million during the review period.

The company generated revenue of NPR 6.0762 billion from electricity sales. Operating profit reached NPR 3.7431 billion. Even after deducting administrative and project expenses, royalties, foreign exchange losses, and depreciation costs, the company remained profitable.

By the end of the previous quarter (mid-October), the company had earned a net profit of NPR 1.6746 billion, whereas during the same period of the last fiscal year it had incurred a loss of NPR 821.1 million. This indicates a significant improvement in the company’s financial condition compared to last year.

As of mid-January, the company’s total assets stood at NPR 82.788 billion. Of this, NPR 76.98 billion were non-current assets and NPR 5.80 billion were current assets. The company’s total equity reached NPR 10.59 billion, while long-term liabilities amounted to NPR 68.16 billion.

During the review period, the company’s accumulated loss still exceeded NPR 11.45 billion. However, with increasing revenue from electricity production and sales, its financial position is expected to strengthen further in the coming periods.

According to the company, efforts are ongoing to manage project-related liabilities, restructure loans, and maintain production stability. The second-quarter report indicates that the company is moving from a loss position toward profitability.
