Apollo Hydro Power Limited has extended the deadline for local residents of the project-affected areas to apply for its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The IPO, which opened on February 23, 2026, can now be applied for until March 23, 2026, according to the company.

The company had received approval to issue 1,410,000 ordinary shares worth Rs 141 million, which is 30 percent of its issued capital of Rs 570 million. Under this, in the first phase, 470,000 shares worth Rs 47 million at a face value of Rs 100 per share have been issued for local residents of the project-affected areas.

Of the total shares, 50 percent (235,000 shares) will be allocated to residents of the highly affected areas - Khijidemba Rural Municipality Ward Nos. 7 and 8 in Okhaldhunga District. Similarly, 30 percent (141,000 shares) has been reserved for residents of moderately affected areas - Ward No. 2 of Likhu Pike Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu District and Ward No. 3 of Umakunda Rural Municipality in Ramechhap District.

The remaining 20 percent (94,000 shares) will be distributed to residents of the less affected areas - Ward No. 2 of Umakunda Rural Municipality and Ward No. 1 of Gokulganga Rural Municipality in Ramechhap District.

Applicants can apply for a minimum of 10 shares and a maximum of 47,000 shares. CARE Ratings Nepal has assigned the company a ‘CARE-NP BB- (Double B Minus)’ issuer rating, indicating a moderate level of risk in the company’s ability to meet its financial obligations.

Himalayan Capital Limited has been appointed as the issue and sales manager for the IPO. Local residents of the project-affected areas can apply from the Apollo Hydropower project office in Okhaldhunga, Laxmi Sunrise Bank branches in Kinja (Solukhumbu), Shivalaya and Preeti (Ramechhap), Nepal Investment Bank’s Khijidemba branch in Okhaldhunga, and Citizens Bank’s Likhu Pike branch in Solukhumbu. Applicants are required to pay Rs 2 as an application form fee to obtain the form.

Apollo Hydro Power is currently developing the 6 MW Buku Khola Hydropower Project, which has an estimated total cost of Rs 1.372 billion.
