Himalaya Motrux Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Himalaya Organization, has officially introduced the Maxus Interon-9 Comfort, a new premium electric four-wheel pickup truck, in the Nepali market.

The company has announced an introductory price of Rs 8.8 million for the first 50 customers.

The newly launched electric pickup is designed for both personal and commercial use, targeting daily commuters, long-distance travelers, off-road users, and businesses requiring reliable cargo transportation.

According to the company, the vehicle has been developed to handle Nepal’s diverse road conditions, including rough and challenging terrains.

The Maxus Interon-9 Comfort comes equipped with a 102.2 kWh battery pack, claimed to be the largest battery capacity among electric pickups currently available in Nepal.

The company says the vehicle can travel up to 560 kilometers on a single full charge under NEDC standards. With a 115 kW DC fast-charging system, the battery can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in around 42 minutes.

The pickup features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with a 125 kW front motor and a 200 kW rear motor, producing a combined 700 Nm of torque.

The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and has a top speed of 190 km/h, according to Himalaya Motrux.

Built for adventure and difficult road conditions, the Interon-9 Comfort comes with an All-Terrain System (ATS) that allows drivers to select different driving modes according to road and terrain conditions.

The vehicle can cross water depths of up to 545 mm, with a 29-degree approach angle and 25-degree departure angle, making it suitable for challenging environments.

For improved comfort and stability, the pickup is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link independent rear suspension, ensuring a smoother ride even on uneven roads.

Designed for commercial applications, the electric pickup offers a payload capacity of 1,050 kg and can tow up to 3,500 kg with brakes.

Its cargo bed measures 1,561 mm in length, 1,500 mm in width, and 535 mm in height.

The five-seat cabin features a modern interior with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen display.

Other premium features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic climate control, six-way electrically adjustable driver seat, microfiber leather steering wheel, rear passenger air vents, USB and Type-C charging ports, keyless entry and start, automatic headlights and wipers, vehicle-to-load (V2L) power supply capability, and one-touch power windows.

In terms of safety, Himalaya Motrux said the Maxus Interon-9 Comfort has received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. The company added that after-sales service will be available in six major cities across Nepal.
