Jagdamba Motors Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, has officially unveiled the new Proton e.MAS 5 compact electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) at its authorized sales center in Dhangadhi.

The launch event was organized as a special ceremony, marking the arrival of Proton’s second electric vehicle in the Nepali market.

According to the company, the Proton e.MAS 5 is designed to make urban lifestyles and daily commuting more convenient, smart, and modern through advanced technology, practical features, and an attractive design.

The newly launched electric SUV recently won the “Electric Compact Vehicle of the Year 2026” title at Malaysia’s prestigious Alliance DSF Vehicle of the Year Awards 2026, highlighting its combination of innovation, performance, and design excellence.

The Proton e.MAS 5 comes equipped with a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with multiple smart features. The vehicle offers a 70-liter front trunk (frunk), a 375-liter expandable rear storage compartment, and 32 additional storage compartments for enhanced convenience.

The launch event in Dhangadhi was attended by Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Gopal Hamal, Deputy Mayor Kandakala Kumari Rana, business partners, media representatives, auto journalists, social media content creators, and other distinguished guests. The company said the event reflects the growing interest in electric vehicles and sustainable transportation in Sudurpashchim Province.

Speaking at the event, Jagdamba Motors Senior General Manager Sushil Chhetri said the company was pleased to continue its successful partnership with Proton and introduce the e.MAS 5 for customers in the Sudurpashchim region.

He expressed confidence that the vehicle would become a preferred choice among customers due to its modern technology, high safety standards, practical usability, and competitive pricing. He added that Jagdamba Motors is proud to bring world-class electric vehicles to Nepal to accelerate the country’s transition toward sustainable transportation.

Proton, Malaysia’s leading national automobile brand, has expanded its global presence rapidly following its strategic partnership with Geely in 2017. The company stated that Proton e.MAS has already established itself as one of Malaysia’s leading electric vehicle brands and is expanding into international markets, including Nepal.

The Proton e.MAS 5 is available in two variants - Prime and Premium. At the Dhangadhi launch event, Jagdamba Motors announced a special introductory price of Rs. 2.99 million for the Prime variant and Rs. 3.49 million for the Premium variant. The company said the offer will be available only for the first 100 customers and for a limited period.

Interested customers can visit the Proton sales center in Dhangadhi to explore the new e.MAS 5, take a test drive, and learn more about its features. The company has also opened bookings under the limited-time introductory pricing offer.
