The foreign ministers of Nepal and India will jointly inaugurate three transmission lines of 132 kVA on Thursday.

According to high sources, the foreign ministers of both the countries will inaugurate the Raxaul-Parwanipur transmission line connecting the Bihar state of India, Kushaha-Kataiya transmission line and Nautanwa-Mainahiya transmission line connecting India's Uttar Pradesh state.

Likewise, a 10,000 megawatt electricity trade agreement will be signed in the presence of foreign ministers of Nepal and India.

According to high sources, the MoU is scheduled to be signed tomorrow between the Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of India, Pankaj Agarwal and the Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Nepal, Gopal Sigdel.

For this, a team from the Ministry of Energy of India has arrived in Kathmandu to sign a medium-term and long-term energy agreement between Nepal and India. There is also a program to be signed by Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of India, and Gopal Sigdel, Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Nepal, in the presence of the foreign ministers of both countries.

The joint secretary level meeting of the Ministry of Energy of Nepal and India is being held in Kathmandu today. In this meeting, there will be an effort to agree on the creation of an energy bank. If there is an agreement at the joint secretary level, this agenda will be finalized in the meeting of the secretary level joint directorate committee of the Ministry of Energy to be held in Chitwan on January 5-6.

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is visiting Nepal on Thursday morning leading the Indian delegation including Foreign Secretary Binay Mohan Kwatra, Joint Secretary Anurag Srivastava, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, officials from Border Management under the Ministry of External Affairs.

A team including External Affairs Minister Jaishankar will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 10 AM on Thursday morning by a special plane of the Indian Air Force.

Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and the Indian Ambassador to Nepal will welcome the delegation at the airport. Along with the meeting with Foreign Minister NP Saud, he will participate in the meeting of Nepal India Joint Commission.

Courtesy meetings have been scheduled with the President, Prime Minister, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

At the dinner organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there will be a group meeting with the leaders of the parliamentary parties of the parties represented in parliament, the chairpersons of the parliamentary committees, and the top leaders of the major political parties.
