A total of Rs. 75.2 million has been deposited into the fund established for the reconstruction of physical infrastructures, economic recovery, relief, and rehabilitation damaged by the Gen-G movement.

A meeting of the Physical Reconstruction Committee, formed to make the reconstruction of public and government physical infrastructures damaged by the movement more organized and effective, was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal.

The meeting decided to utilize the funds collected in the fund to prepare detailed engineering designs and reconstruction reports of the damaged public structures, carry out immediate repairs and maintenance to resume public services, and spend on programs related to economic recovery, relief, and rehabilitation. For the preparation of detailed engineering designs and reconstruction reports of government and public buildings across the country, Rs. 35 million has been allocated.

For the programs to be implemented through the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction and the Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office, Rs. 20 million and Rs. 15 million, respectively, have been allocated. Similarly, Rs. 20 million has been allocated through the same department to carry out immediate repair and maintenance of public structures in order to resume public services.

Through the Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office, Rs. 10 million has been allocated to carry out immediate repair and maintenance of public structures to resume public services. Additionally, Rs. 5 million has been allocated through the department to implement programs for economic recovery, relief, and rehabilitation.

The meeting also decided to launch a separate website, www.rebuildnepal.gov.np, to ensure transparency and public accessibility regarding the funds collected and the activities of the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Committee.
